Family Ties Therapeutic Foster Care
Family Ties serves children who have been abused or neglected and are in need of foster placement. These children may have emotional disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral handicaps and/or medical concerns.

Children removed from their home due to continued neglect and abuse by their parents or guardians usually thrive in a nurturing and stable environment. Family Ties Therapeutic Foster Care offers a second chance to these children by placing them in specially trained foster homes, where the goal is to restore the child to a sense of wholeness, with hope for the future.

Therapeutic foster care homes differ from traditional foster homes because the children have severe emotional or behavioral problems. Because these children present a rewarding but challenging task, foster parents receive special training to learn to deal with their special needs.

Each foster parent completes a 36 hour orientation class before becoming certified as a foster parent. Ongoing training is required after certification to support all foster parents.

Reflecting the trend away from institutionalized care, highly trained, dedicated staff are on call 24 hours per day. The foster care staff serve as liaisons between the foster family, other agency programs, and a wealth of community services and resources that can help the foster family succeed.

Family Ties is unique in that we offer counseling/psychotherapy, community support/case management and medication/somatic services to the clients who are in need of these services.

Family Ties is located in two regions: Greater Cincinnati at our Villa Campus in Monfort Heights and Dayton at our Moraine office.

Family Ties provides orientation training for those interested in becoming a foster parent. Ongoing training is also arranged in order for foster parents to remain in compliance with the training requirements of the State of Ohio. For more information on becoming a foster parent click here.
